Welcome to the home of Allie and Ryan Lundeen, a couple who has been spending the past decade transforming this 120 year-old property into their forever home, complete with additions of a great room, an outdoor patio oasis, and an attached garage.

As beautiful as it all came out to be, the garage building process was tough. Ryan’s priority for the door was insulation, while Allie’s priority was cohesive design and aesthetics. The couple couldn’t decide what kind of door to pick. Luckily for them, we had just the solution: Clopay’s Reserve Extira garage doors.

This farmhouse style garage door checked off all of the boxes for both priorities of Ryan and Allie.

• Extira is a weather- and termite resistant paint-grade wood composite, giving Ryan the functionality and durability he was seeking. The door’s craftsmanship is shown in its 4 layers, leaving zero seams or gaps where the overlays come together.

• This eco-friendly material is also very dense, able to be carved and routed just like real wood for custom looks, making Allie’s design heart overjoyed. Complete with oversize windows and a black crossbuck design that mimics the “X” pattern found on their barn doors, this door design fit in and added to the rest of the property.

The garage is now used year-round, from hosting family parties or as bonus space for the kids to run around and play, to the everyday convenience of being able to unload groceries and the kids’ gear under cover.
